NABIS is compatible with a number of common browsers. These include:

  • Internet Explorer — Version 6.0 or greater on the Windows 9x/2000/XP operating systems
  • Mozilla Firefox — Version 3.0.1 or greater on the Windows 9x/2000/XP and Linux operating systems

If you are running an older browser or operating system then you may have problems running NABIS. Only these combinations are supported.

We are currently not developing to the MAC so some functionality will not work, please contact nabis@fish.govt.nz if you have any suggestions or queries regarding this issue.

Troubleshooting NABIS

Use the Refresh button of your browser if your map does not appear to load up.

If you are having problems using NABIS, first check whether:

  • Your screen resolution is high enough. It should be at least at 800 by 600 pixels, but we recommend 1024 by 768 or 1280 by 1024
  • Your screen is set to display 256 or more colours
  • You are using a compatible browser and supported operating system
  • You have Javascript enabled

If your browser is not compatible, NABIS may appear to work but there may be problems when you change maps.

If your browser is compatible, and you still have problems with NABIS, please tell us. Use the link on the Contact Us page.
