Introduction
This is an advanced search function which allows you to search for information layers (map datasets), place names, metadata and general website content.
It will search for any of the words that are entered into the search box or can search for exact phrases when a string of words is wrapped in quotation marks.
The rules applying to the search function are:
· You can enter one or more words for example: ‘bluefin’, 'tuna' or 'southern bluefin tuna'
· Words can be in any order if you are performing a simple keyword search
for example: 'bluefin southern tuna' will give the same result as 'southern bluefin tuna'
· An exact phrase can be searched by wrapping a string of words in quotation marks (" ") - this will mean that the order of the words is important
for example: “southern bluefin tuna” will NOT give the same result as “tuna southern bluefin”
To use the search function, simply enter a keyword or keywords into the search dialogue box in the top right hand corner of the page (ensuring the above rules are followed) then press enter or click ‘search’.
When the search page loads, the different types of search results will be separated into their respective groups as seen below. If there is more than one page of search results per group, an option to view the next page will appear underneath the group of search results, click this link to be taken to the next set of search results for the relevant group.
To view a search result, click on the blue underlined text that refers to a result and the page will reload with the respective map, metadata or web page displayed.
If none of the search results match what you are looking for, click proceed to map to go back to the map page or you can return to the home page using the menu link on the top right or nabis logo on the top left of the page.

No Search Results
If there are no results matching the keyword/s that you have entered, a page similar to the following page will appear.
You can run a new search from the top right corner of the page, return to the home page with either the menu link in the top right or the nabis logo on the top left corner, or use the proceed to map button.

Validation Errors
If an error is detected in your search, a validation message appears with an explanation for the error. You can run a new search from the top right corner of the page, return to the home page with either the menu link on the top right or nabis logo on the top left corner, or use the proceed to map button.
